چکیده

Recent years have witnessed a significant interest in phytonutrients as treatment module for range of diseases, including cancers. Catechins, predominant green tea are potent antioxidants belonging to the flavonoid family that been linked epidemiologically lower prevalence prostate pathologies Asian nations. In present work, we investigated ameliorative potential catechins (epigallocatechin, EGC, and epigallocatechin 3-gallate, EGCG) on aberrant proliferation normal epithelial cells driven by paracrine action stromal medium, conditioned with estradiol (E2) dihydrotestosterone (DHT) (20 pM 10 nM respectively). It was observed EGC (5 µM) significantly inhibited induced medium (CM), decreased expression ERα, ERβ, AR, CK05, CK18, PSA. Further, CM collected after pre-treatment EGCG (0.75 µM), had an inhibitory effect cell proliferation, reduction CK05 while PSA were increased. These findings suggest helps downregulating is able downregulate proliferative secretome. insights will help deciphering preventive measures against involving stromal-epithelial cross-talk.

Chemopreventive Potential of Green Tea Catechins in Hepatocellular Carcinoma

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), which is a common malignancy worldwide, usually develops in a cirrhotic liver due to hepatitis virus infection. Metabolic syndrome, which is frequently complicated by obesity and diabetes mellitus, is also a critical risk factor for liver carcinogenesis. Green tea catechins (GTCs) may possess potent anticancer and chemopreventive properties for a number of differ...

Antiviral effect of catechins in green tea on influenza virus.

Polyphenolic compound catechins ((-)-epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), (-)-epicatechin gallate (ECG) and (-)-epigallocatechin (EGC)) from green tea were evaluated for their ability to inhibit influenza virus replication in cell culture and for potentially direct virucidal effect. Among the test compounds, the EGCG and ECG were found to be potent inhibitors of influenza virus replication in MDCK ...
